I jumped aboard the offer of this collaboration when Rebecca Douglas approached me about it back in May this year. I have worked on many a project with Rebecca and I love every minute of working with her. There were also lots of other suppliers she was planning to get onboard that I really wanted to work with. Plus, who wouldn't want to go and stay in a French chateau in the middle of a rural farming village avec far more cheese than anyone could possibly consume!?
Rebecca and I worked alongside one another on the styling of this shoot. We worked with Kelly Green, Marigold, Hyacinth and Sunkist Coral from the Pantone 2015 colour palette. We wanted to merge both monochrome patterns and prints with this bright colour pallette to create a slightly new take on the sixties.
Flowers by Anemone Blue Florist were kept simple and reflective of the era we were honouring, however, they were then whipped up a bit when the groom got a tie made of gip! That HAS to be a first surely?!
Jennie from Whippy Weddings created some amazing paper fortune tellers and some record placemats, Liz from Sylvia's Kitchen created a macaron cake with a monochrome ribbon and using the Kelly Green and Sunkist Coral.
My favourite part has to be when we were in the dining room playing about on the floor with the wicked gold sequin Amour letters from Alphabet Lounge and then when I was on the top rung of the ladder scattering hundreds of pieces of confetti down over them both. That's my kind of shoot! :)
Balloons from Bubblegum Balloons were the icing on the cake! Made especially for us with black and white diamond tails.
All the while we were busy prepping and shooting, Skinny Boy Wedding's Steve and Katie were there, with their stealth-like and polite manner, filming the whole process which you can see just below:
